Metabolic conditioning in 30 minutes: compound dumbbell moves in three timed circuits for a sweaty, efficient full-body session.
Heather Robertson's full-body MetCon is built from compound exercises that use more than one muscle group at a time, which makes it sweaty and efficient. After a warm-up, three circuits run 40 seconds on and 20 off for two rounds each, mixing squats, lunges, presses and push-ups, before a cool down and stretch. Light, medium and heavy dumbbells and a mat are all you need.

Who Is It For?
Intermediate exercisers with a few dumbbells and a mat who want a time-efficient, full-body session that gets the heart rate up.
Who Is It Not For?
Not ideal without dumbbells or if you need low-impact work, as the circuits include push-ups, lunges and squat jacks.
Key Benefits
Trains several muscle groups at once to build strength and conditioning while keeping the heart rate high in a short session.
Things to Keep in Mind
Choose weights you can handle with control and ease off the lunges, push-ups and jacks if your knees, wrists or shoulders feel strained.
